  • Network analysis of comorbid internet addiction, anxiety, and depression symptoms among Chinese junior high school students

Open Access•Ting Yu, H Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Internet addiction (IA) frequently co-occurs with anxiety and depression during adolescence. However, traditional latent variable models based on total scores often mask specific symptom-level interactions. This study utilized network analysis to elucidate the fine-grained associations between IA, anxiety, and depression symptoms among Chinese adolescents and to explore potential gender differences in these network structures. Methods …

  • Foreign faith and rising state

Open Access•H Wang, Minzhao Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Political Science Research and…•2025•References: 41

How does a ruler implement state-building at the local level? This paper examines state-building in late 16th-century Japan by focusing on Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s land surveys, which were crucial for establishing a centralized regime. We argue that Hideyoshi strengthened control over the locality via land surveys as a strategic response to the perceived threats emanating from Catholic missionaries. Using various empirical strategies including spatia…

Participatory Design (PD) is a commonly used method in Western cultures with roots in Scandinavia. After the COVID-19 pandemic, many PD practitioners have transitioned to an online space, where researchers and participants from different geographical locations can co-design together. Yet, we do not fully understand how different cultures collide, mix and blend in the online co-design space. By understanding how one’s culture influences the partic…

Open Access•Jong Boonpracha, Supit Seangkong et al.•ARTICLE•International Society for the…•2023

Metaphor is a valuable tool for facilitating innovative product design. Metaphor facilitates designers' comprehension of design concepts by illustrating comparisons with their existing knowledge. Limited research exists on how metaphors transform cultural art characteristics into product designs to convey consumers' understanding of value meanings from cultural art features in modern products. To address this, a conceptual framework was developed…

Intercontinental exchanges between communities living in different parts of Eurasia during the late prehistoric period have become increasingly popular as a topic of archaeological research. The Qijia culture, found in northwest China, is one of the key archaeological cultures that can shed light on trans-Eurasian exchange because a variety of imports are found in this cultural context. These imports include new cereals and animals, which suggest…

    Open Access•H Wang•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2003

Radiocarbon (14C) dating of total soil organic matter (SOM) often yields results inconsistent with the stratigraphic sequence. The onerous chemical extractions for SOM fractions do not always produce satisfactory 14C dates. In an effort to develop an alternative method, the pyrolysis-combustion technique was investigated to partition SOM into pyrolysis volatile (Py-V) and pyrolysis residue (Py-R) fractions. The Py-V fractions obtained from a thic…
