It was a great surprise to me to find in Constantinople the large number of TekkCs (Tekiyas or Zawiyahs), which a recent investigation revealed.There are now according to official information 258 Dervish Houses in the city.A few years ago there were 319.T h e great fires have wiped out 61 Tekkes within a period of ten or a dozen years.T h e following list to date comprises 17 different Orders
