This paper reports the outcome evaluation of a gun safety video intervention. Guided largely by the extended parallel process model, the video, Bullet “Proof” - The Case for Gun Safety' focuses primarily on (a) knowledge of 6 gun safety practices, (b) susceptibility to accidental gunshot injuries and death, severity of gunshot injuries, (d) response efficacy, and (e) self-efficacy. Effects of negative political advertising on the political process
An experiment was conducted to explore the effects of negative political advertising on several variables important to the political process. Results indicated that negative commercials may lead to greater candidate image discrimination and greater attitude polarization than their positive counterparts. Styles of Parental Disciplinary Practices as a Mediator of Children's Learning from Antisocial Television Portrayals
This study examines the parental disciplinary practices under which children's modeling of antisocial TV portrayals are minimized and maximized. Two types of enduring parental styles that influence children's moral development are induction and sensitization. Results from a field survey indicate that children of parents who are highly inductive and who only occasionally resort to sensitizing techniques are the least affected by physical and verba…

Effects of Political Advertising
Relationships between broadcast advertising exposure and various cognitive and affective orientations were assessed in a survey of voters during a congressional election campaign. Exposure was moderately correlated with political knowledge and interest.
