    The votes of college professors on three resolutions dealing with penalties fot local campus unrest are analyzed on a scale of tolerance of political nonconformity. Years in residence at the institution and academic rank proved to be most strongly related to tolerance. Control for longevity considerably weakened the influence of department or discipline.     The religious behavior of Catholic Americans is viewed as a composite of ethnic elements, and Catholic ethnic groups are shown to have varied levels of association within the Church.
