Men having sex with men (MSM) now account for 7% of all HIV/AIDS cases in China and there is growing awareness that internal rural-to-urban migration might shift the HIV epidemic within China by broadening social and sexual mixing. About 70% of HIV/AIDS infections are among rural residents, of whom 80% are males and 60% aged 16-29. Paleopathological and biomolecular study of tuberculosis in a medieval skeletal collection from England
Nine human skeletons of medieval date from a rural English burial site show signs of skeletal tuberculosis. They were subject to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays aimed at detecting traces of DNA from infecting mycobacteria, with the purpose both of confirming the paleopathological diagnosis of tuberculosis and determining in individual cases whether disease was due to M. tuberculosis or M. bovis . On the Macroscopic Identification of Used Flakes
The most common method used by archaeologists to identify flaked-stone artifacts that were used by prehistoric people to accomplish some task is to inspect an artifact's edges for macroscopic edge damage. The results of a test of this 'no-magnification' approach to microwear analysis indicate that such an approach is likely to produce highly inaccurate and biased data in many or most cases

Do plasma norepinephrine levels reflect behavioral stress
The interpretation of plasma norepinephrine (NE) levels is not straightforward because such levels represent a complex of synaptic discharge, metabolism, uptake, and regional blood flow. Some investigators have argued that peripheral NE levels bear little semblance to sympathetic nervous system activity affecting the cardiovascular system. The difference between date of suicidal act and recorded death certificate date in 204 consecutive suicides
The date of death recorded on death certificates (DCD) was compared to the date of the suicidal act (DA) in a consecutive series of 204 suicides. The DA was known to be the same as the DCD in only 46 per cent of the cases. The DA was different from the DCD in 22 per cent of the cases. The difference between the DA and DCD should be taken into consideration in the analysis of temporal trends
