Development of bilateral asymmetry of the upper limb in children from a medieval population in Central Europe, Hungary
This study examined the emergence and characteristics of bilateral asymmetry of the upper limb during development in a medieval agricultural population from Hungary, and investigated the agricultural activity-types in a bioarchaeological and biomechanical context. The skeletal remains of 169 nonadult individuals were selected from the cemetery of Bátmonostor-Pusztafalu, providing 134 cases for humeral diameter and length, 70 cases for radial leng…

Az orosházi Árpád-kori muszlim temető kutatásának első 15 éve
A szerző a kutatásban részt vevők nevében röviden összefoglalja Orosháza-Bónum, Faluhely régészeti lelőhely kutatásának eddigi eredményeit. A kutatásban 3 ország 9 intézményének 17 kutatója vett részt, az eddigi embertani eredményeink metrikus, paleopatológiai, paleomikrobiológiai és kémiai antropológiai vizsgálatokból származnak, de természetesen a régészeti eredmények is nagyon fontosak Magyarország első olyan régészeti lelőhelyén, ahol az Árpá…
Osteoarcheological and biomolecular evidence of leprosy from an 11–13th century CE Muslim cemetery in Europe (Orosháza, Southeast Hungary)

Partial mummification and extraordinary context observed in perinate burials
Komplementer morfológiai és kémiai antropológiai vizsgálatok régi emberi maradványokon
Chemical anthropology lays in the intersection of chemistry and biological anthropology. Our related investigations targeted the remains of 698 individuals from 5 archaeological sites. The samples also included the partially mummified remains of a neonate. During our investigations we applied many macromorphological, paleoradiological, paleohistological, paleomicrobial techniques, and several methodologies of chemical anthropology. Using XRF and …
