Open Access•Joseph De Koninck, Ashley Nixon et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Public Health•2024•Cited by: 2•References: 9

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the practice of setting the clocks one hour forward from Standard Time (ST) in the spring and back again to ST in the fall. Ideally, ST should be close to solar time, meaning that daylight is equally distributed before and after noon t…

  • Dissociated Effects of Age and Recent Troubling Experiences on Nightmares, Threats and Negative Emotions in Dreams

Open Access•Kheana Barbeau, Alexandre Lafrenière et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2022

Several studies have highlighted associations between adverse life events and the dysphoric character of dream experiences. This degree of continuity between waking-life and dream content seems partly attributed to the emotional and personal attachment linked to the incorporated waking experiences. Numerous changes in the processing of emotion-related stimuli are also reported across different human developmental stages. Therefore, we were intere…

  • Stress and coping in the waking and dreaming states during an examination period

    Marie-Annick Delorme, Monique Lortie-Lussier et al.•ARTICLE•Dreaming•2002•Cited by: 4•References: 5

Dream diaries were kept by 35 female undergraduates for two ten-day periods, one of preparation for midterm or final examinations, and an exam-free one. Research questions were whether the stress and negative emotions induced by preparing for exams were reflected in dreams and what types of coping were used both in the waking and dreaming states. There was no consistent impact of the stressful situation on dreams, in terms of incorporation and ne…

In a between-participant matching task, the same judges attempted to match 6 EDs from different participants to their respective DRs. For the within-participant task…

On Nights 2, 3, and 4, before sleep, the subjects saw but did not have to touch a live snake and their dreams were collected for each REM period. The results showed that, when compared with the subjects who received the…
