Experiencing enjoyment in visual programming tasks promotes self‐efficacy and reduces the gender gap
Secondary school students ( N = 269) participated in a daylong visual programming course held in a stimulating environment for start‐up enterprises. The tasks were application‐oriented and partly creative. For example, a wearable device with light‐emitting diodes, (ie, LEDs) could be applied to a T‐shirt and used for optical messages. Since 2015, the national minimum wage aims to benefit primarily low-wage workers in Germany. Using administrative data, distinct regional differences in the extent of gender wage gaps and responses to the minimum wage become clear. Overall, wage gaps between men and women at the 10th percentile decrea…
The role of momentary emotions in promoting error learning orientation among lower secondary school students
BackgroundStudents make many errors in visual programming. In order to learn from these, it is important that students regulate their emotions and view errors as learning opportunities.AimsThis study aimed to explore to what extent momentary emotions, specifically enjoyment, anxiety and boredom, as well as the error learning orientation of students, interacted during a 1-day course on visual programming in an out-of-school learning environment.Sa…
How does burnout relate to daily work-related rumination and well-being of psychotherapists? A daily diary study among psychotherapeutic practitioners
Our results indicated that daily rumination and pre-EE were associated with reduced daily well-being. As we are the first to present a daily diary study among psychotherapists, we examined the feasibility of the daily diary design in particular and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) in general in this population. Compliance rates compared well with other EMA studies, indicating that EMAs were a feasible assessment option for psychotherapeutic …
