Fair models of political fairness
In this note we study different methods of aggregation of preferences met on the occasion of elections. Through a simple geometrical representation, we analyse several of their properties, in particular those linked to Arrow's theorem for ordinal rankings; we pursue this discussion in the case of cardinal rankings, the qualities of which convince us of the usefulness of experiencing their introduction in real ballots

A Mathematical Model for Political Bipolarization
The problem of fair representation is studied in the case of cleavage according to one or two criteria. In the latter case we show that with minimal requirements of equity, a solution exists only if the two criteria are binary. This might explain an observed tendency to political bipolarization
An Algebraic Account of the American Kinship Terminology [and Comments and Reply]
Although componential and transformational analyses are the generally recognized domains for the study of kinship terminology structure, neither procedure completely elucidates the structure formed by kin terms as a system of terms. This paper attempts to establish a structural relationship between the kinship regimes of the Shang (1766-1122 B.C.) and Eastern Chou (770-221 B.C.) dynasties of ancient China as they have been described in the works of P.
