  • Correlation of BMI-related insulin resistance and cardiometabolic multimorbidity risk in the hypertension with sarcopenia adults

    Open Access•Jingfeng Zou, S Li et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2026

Background Cardiometabolic multimorbidity (CMM) and obesity are growing global public health burdens. The obesity paradox, however, obscures how insulin resistance (IR) shapes CMM risk in individuals with coexisting hypertension and sarcopenia, a question that remains unresolved. Methods Two body mass index (BMI)-adjusted IR indices – the estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) and the triglyceride glucose index (TyG) – were assessed in the China H…

    Open Access•Chengyu She, Yiting Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Mobile Media & Communication•2025•References: 9

Digital back-feeding is a bottom-up process by which younger generations teach or assist older generations in digital access, usage, and literacy. This study aims to examine how two means of digital back-feeding—proxy back-feeding and learning back-feeding—might be differently impacted by older adults’ perceptions of smartphone use, as well as their impact on older adults’ digital literacy. A cross-sectional questionnaire survey ( n = 433) was co…

  • Linguistic Steganography via Self-Adjusting Asymmetric Number System

Open Access•Yiting Liu, Chungen Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Computational Linguistics•2025

Linguistic steganography (stego) seeks to conceal secret information within natural language text. However, existing methods often struggle to balance stego text quality with embedding efficiency, largely due to limitations in generation strategies and coding mechanisms. We propose SA-ANS, a self-adaptive linguistic steganography framework based on a self-adjusting Asymmetric Numeral System. SA-ANS allows user-specified embedding rates and uses p…

  • Ameliorative Effect of Curcumin-Encapsulated Hyaluronic Acid–PLA Nanoparticles on Thioacetamide-Induced Murine Hepatic Fibrosis

    Open Access•Yu-Nong Chen, Shih‐Lan Hsu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2016

In this study, we developed curcumin-encapsulated hyaluronic acid-polylactide nanoparticles (CEHPNPs) to be used for liver fibrosis amelioration. CD44, the hyaluronic acid (HA) receptor, is upregulated on the surface of cancer cells and on activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs) rather than normal cells. CEHPNPs could bind to CD44 and be internalized effectively through endocytosis to release curcumin, a poor water-soluble liver protective agent…
