Report on Shanghai Norms for the Chinese Translation of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children—Revised
The Chinese translation of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children--Revised (WISC-RC) was administered to 660 children (ages 6 through 16 yr.) in the city of Shanghai. The obtained norms represent children's intelligence levels in big cities where the economic and cultural development is advanced. Mental Rotations, a Group Test of Three-Dimensional Spatial Visualization
A new paper-and-pencil test of spatial visualization was constructed from the figures used in the Chronometric study of Shepard and Metzler (1971). In large samples, the new test displayed substantial internal consistency (Kuder-Richardson 20 = .88), a test-retest reliability (.83), and consistent sex differences over the entire range of ages investigated. Replication of the Factor Structure of the Comrey Personality Scales
The factor structure of the Comrey Personality Scales was replicated using a sample of suburban Denver residents ( N = 377). Correlations are reported between the Comrey scales and age, socioeconomic status, sex, body type, a short locus of control scale, the Raven Progressive Matrices Test, and the Neuroticism and Extraversion scales from the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. Assortative marriage for specific cognitive abilities in Korea
Age‐adjusted spouse correlations for performance on tests of specific cognitive abilities were substantially higher for couples tested in Korea than for Americans of European or Japanese ancestry tested in Hawaii. It was hypothesized that this greater spouse resemblance in Korea may be due to cultural factors such as the Korean practice of arranged marriages
