  • Estimating the incidence of actionable drug-gene interactions in Japanese patients with major depressive disorder

Open Access•Masakazu Hatano, Masashi Ikeda et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

We estimated that one in four Japanese patients with major depressive disorder who were prescribed first-time antidepressants had actionable drug-gene interactions. These results suggest that pre-emptive pharmacogenetic testing in the treatment of major depressive disorder could have important clinical implications

  • Genetic association between gene expression profiles in oligodendrocyte precursor cells and psychiatric disorders

Open Access•Reon Kondo, Hiroki Kimura et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

The present results highlight the previously underappreciated role of OPCs in psychiatric disorders, suggesting that OPC-involved synaptic interactions may contribute to the pathophysiology of SCZ. This work underscores the importance of considering OPCs as active players in neural network dysfunction, with potential implications for future therapeutic strategies

  • Mapping genomic loci implicates genes and synaptic biology in schizophrenia

Open Access•Vassily Trubetskoy, Antonio F Pardiñas et al.•ARTICLE•Nature•2022

  • Changes in the Commercial Structure of an Area Affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster

Open Access•Nobuhiko Komaki, Nobuyuki Iwama et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Geography (Chigaku…•2021

Changes in commercial structure following the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster are examined from organizational and spatial perspective. The study area is Yamada Town in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, which was severely damaged by the huge tsunami caused by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Supported by the municipality, three main actors—local minor retailers, local major retail companies, and major retailers outside the area—pushed through a …

  • GWAS of 165,084 Japanese individuals identified nine loci associated with dietary habits

    Open Access•Nana Matoba, Masahiro Akiyama et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2020•Cited by: 4•References: 48

  • GWAS of smoking behaviour in 165,436 Japanese people reveals seven new loci and shared genetic architecture

    Open Access•Nana Matoba, Masahiro Akiyama et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2019•Cited by: 3•References: 51
