  • What are parents' preferences for Human Papillomavirus vaccination promotion messages and communication? Application of a discrete choice experiment to a French Caribbean setting

    Open Access•Frédérique Dorléans, Frédérique G E Dorleans et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

These original DCE results highlighted the need for tailoring specific HPV vaccination promotion communication in a French Caribbean setting. Contextual features such as sexuality concerns as regard to age and peers' adhesion to vaccination have to be thoroughly considered. The nationwide HPV vaccination campaign in middle schools should adapt communication in order to raise HPV vaccine uptake in the French Caribbean

  • Predictors of Uncertainty and Unwillingness to Receive the Covid-19 Vaccine in Men Who Have Sex with Men in France

Open Access•Youssoufa M Ousseine, Sophie Vaux et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The development of vaccines against COVID-19 has given hope to populations. Public acceptability of vaccination is a major driver in containing the disease. However, in marginalized and stigmatized populations, uncertainty and unwillingness may be a challenge. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with uncertainty and unwillingness to vaccinate against COVID-19 in men who have sex with men (MSM) living in France. The data used came f…

  • Are People Optimistically Biased about the Risk of Covid-19 Infection? Lessons from the First Wave of the Pandemic in Europe

Open Access•Kathleen Mccoll, Marion Debin et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Unrealistic optimism, the underestimation of one's risk of experiencing harm, has been investigated extensively to understand better and predict behavioural responses to health threats. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, a relative dearth of research existed in this domain regarding epidemics, which is surprising considering that this optimistic bias has been associated with a lack of engagement in protective behaviours critical in fighting twenty-f…

  • First nationwide web-based surveillance system for influenza-like illness in pregnant women

Open Access•Paul Loubet, Caroline Guerrisi et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2016

Despite small sample size and lack of representativeness, the retention rate was high, suggesting that pregnant women are prone to adhere to a longitudinal follow-up of their health status via the Internet

  • Data on face-to-face contacts in an office building suggest a low-cost vaccination strategy based on community linkers

    Open Access•Mathieu Génois, Christian L Vestergaard et al.•ARTICLE•Network Science•2015•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 3

Empirical data on contacts between individuals in social contexts play an important role in providing information for models describing human behavior and how epidemics spread in populations. Here, we analyze data on face-to-face contacts collected in an office building. The statistical properties of contacts are similar to other social situations, but important differences are observed in the contact network structure. In particular, the contact…

  • The representativeness of a European multi-center network for influenza-like-illness participatory surveillance

Open Access•Pietro Cantarelli, Marion Debin et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2014

Existing demographic and national datasets allowed the quantification of the participation biases of a large cohort for influenza-like-illness surveillance in the general population. Significant differences were found between Influenzanet participants and the general population. The quantified biases need to be taken into account in the analysis of Influenzanet epidemiological studies and provide indications on populations groups that should be t…

  • Influenza pandemic preparedness in France

Aoife M Doyle, Aoife Doyle et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2006•Referencias: 16

Background: Influenza pandemics result in excess mortality and social disruption. To assist health authorities update the French pandemic plan, the authors estimated the number of health events (cases, hospitalisations, and deaths) in a pandemic and compared interventions in terms of impact and efficiency. Method: A Monte Carlo simulation model, incorporating probability distributions of key variables, provided estimates of health events (HE) by …
