During the second half of the 19th century, Spain's industrial geography underwent radical change. In Jordi Nadal's words, ‘Catalonia became Spain's factory’. The multivariate analysis of dermatoglyphics in population systematics
In this paper a multivariate analysis of dermatoglyphics was carried out. The following traits were used: pattern intensity on fingers, average of main line D terminations and frequencies of patterns in the five configurational areas of the palm. Firstly a cluster analysis is produced and completed with a principal components analysis. The results of both studies show clear agreement. Dermatoglyphic configurations of proximal and middle phalanges in Spaniards
In this paper the dermatoglyphic configurations of proximal and middle phalanges in Spaniards (112 males, 135 females) have been analyzed. The particularities of 12 types were studied in a previous paper (Pons 1985). The present one completes the study with the analysis of 29 subtypes. For each hand and sex the frequencies of subtypes on different digits are analyzed as well as the directional characteristics (radial/ulnar and distal/proximal). O…

In this paper the dermatoglyphics of an Eastern Andalusia series were analysed. The obtained data consists of 204 students (101 males and 103 females) from the University of Granada. According to their ancestors and the geographical position of this university, the sample can be considered as representtive of the Oriental Andalusia.
