    Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a global public health concern with significant physical, emotional, and economic costs.     The persuasiveness of a health recommendation, among other things, is a function of the cost of engaging in the recommended behavior—such as money, time, effort, and discomfort— and the response-efficacy, defined as the likelihood that adherence to the recommendation would lead to the desired goal.   • Tobacco Warning Labels and the Protection Motivation Model

    Since 2000, Canada has mandated the use of a set of 16 rotating graphic warning labels that cover the top 50 percent of the front and back of each cigarette package. This paper examines the issue of tobacco warning labels within the context of the Protection Motivation Model.
