    Open Access•Mateusz Kramkowski, Anna Filbrand-Czaja et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 17

In this work, we studied the course of climatic fluctuations at the beginning of the Preboreal period using multiproxy analyses (Chironomidae, pollen, diatoms, Cladocera, stable isotopes, macrocharcoal, microlithofacial) combined with varve chronology of sediments. The results showed a decrease in the mean July temperature and stronger continentalism followed by climate wetting at the start of the Preboreal period. This was reflected in the remod…

  • Environmental changes recorded in the sequence of lake-peat bogs in the Eemian Interglacial and Vistulian on the basis of multi-proxy data

    Open Access•Joanna Mirosław-Grabowska, Ryszard Krzysztof Borówka et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

  • Susceptibility of small boreal lakes to environmental changes as inferred from organic sediments of Lake Talvilampi (Finland)

    Open Access•Krystyna Milecka, Joanna Mirosław-Grabowska et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2019•References: 10

During the Holocene, multiple thermal changes commonly occurred in the northern hemisphere. They are well-recorded in lakes with minimum human impact from the Arctic Circle area. The development of these lakes reflects ecological and climatic changes occurring from the formation of the lakes until present-day times. All environmental fluctuations affect biodiversity and are reflected in the number and composition of species. The goals of this stu…

  • Changes of Water Level in the Eemian Palaeolake at Imbramowice (SW Poland) Based on Isotopic and Cladoceran Data

    Open Access•Joanna Mirosław-Grabowska, Michał Gąsiorowski•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2010

Isotopic and cladoceran investigations of Eemian (MIS 5e) lake sediments from Imbramowice, SW Poland, allow us to reconstruct the environmental conditions, especially changes of water level and trophic status, during the early and middle Eemian Interglaciation. We analyzed the sediments from 6.5 to 11.0 m depth in a core provided by Mamakowa (1989). The upper 6.5 m had insufficient carbonates and cladoceran contents for analyses. The analyzed sec…
