  • Comparing Student and Recruiter Evaluations of Computer Science Resumes

Open Access•Corbin Petersheim, Joanna N Lahey et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Education•2023

Contribution: This study identifies which entry-level computer science (CS) resume items are most important and compares the ratings of student and recruiter participants to investigate the accuracy of student beliefs. To the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first to analyze the extent to which CS students understand the resume screening process. The results of this have consequences for students in their own resume development. Background: …

  • Sex differences during visual scanning of occlusion events in infants

    Teresa Wilcox, Gerianne M Alexander et al.•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2012•References: 3

A growing number of sex differences in infancy have been reported. One task on which they have been observed reliably is the event-mapping task. In event mapping, infants view an occlusion event involving 1 or 2 objects, the occluder is removed, and then infants see 1 object. Typically, boys are more likely than girls to detect an inconsistency between a 2-object occlusion event and a 1-object display. The current research investigated underlying…

OBJECTIVE: To develop a current national fetal growth curve that can be used as a common reference point by researchers to facilitate investigations of the predictors and consequences of small and large for gestational age delivery. METHODS: Single live births to United States resident mothers in 1991 (n = 3,134,879) were used for the development of this curve, which was compared with four previously published fetal growth curves. Techniques were…
