  • Crustal subsidence inferred from reconstruction of the Pleistocene–Holocene palaeogeography in the northern Lake Inba area, central Japan

Open Access•Takashi Chiba, Shigeo Sugihara et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2020

To help characterise the palaeogeographic and lacustrine environmental changes that resulted from the Holocene transgression and residual subsidence in the eastern Kanto Plain of central Japan, we analysed four drill cores and reviewed other core data from the southern part of the Lake Inba area. Fossil diatom assemblages yielded evidence of centennial-scale palaeogeographic and salinity responses to sea-level changes since the late Pleistocene. …

  • Temperate deciduous broadleaf forest dynamics around the last glacial maximum in a hilly area in the northern Kanto district, central Japan

Open Access•Rika Nishiuchi, Arata Momohara et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Reconstruction of Lake Balkhash levels and precipitation/evaporation changes during the last 2000 years from fossil diatom assemblages

  • Gakushuin Natural Radiocarbon Measurements III

    Open Access•Kunihiko Kigoshi, Der-Hwang Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1964•Cited by: 2•References: 4

This date list covers many of the datings done from November 1962 to October 1963. The instruments and technique used for this work are essentially the same as those used for the previous work (Gakushuin II). Age calculations are based on the Libby half life of C 14 , 5570 ± 30 yr. The errors quoted are the standard deviations obtained from the number of counts only. When observed activities are less than 2a above background, infinite dates are g…

  • Gakushuin Natural Radiocarbon Measurements II

    Open Access•Kunihiko Kigoshi, Kunihiko Endo•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1963•Cited by: 7•References: 3

This date list covers many of the datings done from November 1961 to October 1962. Technique described in Gakushuin I (Gakushuin I) is virtually unchanged, using 900-ml acetylene-filled proportional counter (Counter 1) with multiple-anode anti-coincidence ring counter

  • Gakushuin Natural Radiocarbon Measurements I

Kunihiko Kigoshi, Yoshio Tomikura et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1962•Cited by: 7•References: 6

Natural C 14 measurements have been performed at Gakushuin University since 1959, using a proportional counter of 400 ml (Kigoshi and Tomikura, 1960). The counter presently in service is made of copper tubing and has an effective volume of 900 ml. Acetylene gas is used as counting gas at pressure 600–760 mmHg and prepared in the same way as in the case of 400 ml counter. The counter is shielded by iron sheets of 23-cm thickness and by anti-coinci…
