College Readiness Reflexivity Amid Racialized and Changing Sociopolitical Contexts
This case study describes how a college research-practice partnership at an urban California community school grappled with college readiness amid racialized and changing sociopolitical contexts. Minimal scholarly attention has focused on the transfer experience of Latinx/a/o students who enroll at private universities. Under federal civil rights law, U.S. school districts have a dual obligation to provide students identified as English learners (ELs) with designated English-language development (ELD) instruction and integrated ELD support during core content instruction.
