Significance and management of disability among urban elderly residents in Brazil
Ageing in developing countries
The author presents data supporting the hypothesis that demographic aging is a global phenomenon and that developing countries are aging rapidly. The stages of the process are outlined and the factors causing this trend are discussed. Implications for health and social services are described and projections to the year 2025 are made. Data are from official and other published sources. (ANNOTATION)
