  • Spatial evaluation of pregnancy loss among child-bearing women in India

Open Access•Bhaskar Tiwary, Nilima Nilima et al.•ARTICLE•GeoJournal•2021•References: 1

  • Arsenic contamination in central-east India

Piyush Kant Pandey, Hansa Zankyani et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2012

This paper reports high levels and variability in the arsenic (As) levels at locations identified as one of the highest As-contaminated locations in the world. The high levels and variability in As levels were established by a strict monitoring protocol and the minimum possible time lag between the sampling and analysis. Special sampling arrangements were created at the central-east Indian location to monitor regularly the various water quality p…

  • Biosorptive Removal of Ni(Ii) from Wastewater and Industrial Effluent

Open Access•Piyush Kant Pandey, Shweta Choubey et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2007

The objective of the present work was to investigate the removal of Ni(II) by the fresh biomass (FBM) and chemically treated leached biomass (LBM) of Calotropis procera. The scope of the work included screening of the biosorbents for their metal uptake potential, batch equilibrium, column mode removal studies and kinetic studies at varying pH (2-6), contact time, biosorbent dosages (1-25 g/L) and initial metal ion concentration (5-500 mg/L). The …

  • Human Arsenic Poisoning Issues in Central-East Indian Locations

Open Access•Piyush Kant Pandey, Sushma Yadav et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2007

The study reports the use of three biomarkers i.e. total arsenic in hair and nails, total arsenic in blood, and total arsenic in urine to identify or quantify arsenic exposure and concomitant health effects. The main source of arsenic was inorganic exposure through drinking water. The arsenic levels and the health effects were analyzed closely in a family having maximum symptoms of arsenic. Based on the result of this study it is reported that th…
