  • Weaving Zen Threads into Beat Tapestries

    Open Access•X Liu, Liu Xirong•ARTICLE•Critical Theory•2025

As a doyenne of the Beat Generation, Diane di Prima's literary trajectory epitomizes the movement's philosophical evolution. While the Beats' initial pursuit of liberation through Dionysian excess manifested in sexual liberation, substance experimentation, and performative rebellion which constituted an illusive union between existential angst and utopian idealism, di Prima's engagement with Zen Buddhism catalyzed a paradigmatic shift. This epist…

  • The impact of midsole hardness on joint angles and plantar loading during running at multiple running velocities

Open Access•Luming Yang, X Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Introduction: Suitable midsoles of running shoes provide better protection for the feet. However, previous studies on the effect of midsole hardness on running biomechanics have ignored the important factor of running velocity and have not reached consistent results. This study set a running velocity with six gradients and aimed to investigate whether the midsole hardness would have a different impact on lower limb joint angles and plantar loadin…

    Eran Shor, X Liu•ARTICLE•The Journal of Sex Research•2025•References: 12

Over the last two decades, a large body of literature has concluded that viewing pornography that features aggression is associated with attitudes that endorse aggression and with sexually aggressive behaviors. Yet, previous content analyses of pornography have produced substantial variability in reported rates of aggression. Furthermore, these analyses did not include data from the last decade and most of them failed to examine time trends in po…

    Open Access•C Y Lee, Cheng‐yi Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2020•Cited by: 6•References: 36

During the Neolithic period, the Chengdu Plain was a key region where two important crops, rice and millet, were cultivated together. Millet was probably introduced from north‐western China c .3500–3300 cal. bce , and rice came from the Middle Yangtze River c .2600 cal. bce . In this study, human and faunal remains, as well as charred crop grains, were collected from the Yingpanshan (3300–2600 cal. bce ) and Gaoshan (2500–2000 cal. bce ) sites wh…

  • A Comprehensive Study of the 14 C Source Term in the 10 MW High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor

    Open Access•X Liu, W Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2019•References: 21

While assessing the environmental impact of nuclear power plants, researchers have focused their attention on radiocarbon ( 14 C) owing to its high mobility in the environment and important radiological impact on human beings. The 10 MW high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTR-10) is the first pebble-bed gas-cooled test reactor in China that adopted helium as primary coolant and graphite spheres containing tristructural-isotropic (TRISO) coated p…

This recent evidence further suggests that considering these communities as primarily pastoralist may hide a variety of subsistence strategi…

The treatment group was given daily matrine through gastric lavage. Six mice were sacrificed in …

  • How Deeply Involved Should Celebrities Be in Advertising

Hongxia Zhang, Hong-Xia ZHANG et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2010

  • The Chinese experience of hospital price regulation

    Open Access•X Liu•ARTICLE•Health Policy and Planning•2000

This paper analyzes the distortion effects of the hospital pricing policies in China. To help maintain equitable access to hospital services, the Chinese government regulates prices of hospital services, and provides subsidies to public hospitals. The fees for 90% of the services are less …
