  • Health impacts of a randomized biomass cookstove intervention in northern Ghana

Open Access•Mona Abdo, Ernest Kanyomse et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

ClinicalTrials.gov (National Institutes of Health); Trial Registration Number: NCT04633135 ; Date of Registration: 11 November 2020 - Retrospectively registered. URL: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04633135?term=NCT04633135&draw=2&rank=1

  • Prices, peers, and perceptions (P3)

Open Access•Katherine L Dickinson, Maxwell Ayindenaba Dalaba et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2018

    ClinicalTrials.gov NCT03617952 7/31/18 (Retrospectively Registered)

  • Rural–urban differences in cooking practices and exposures in Northern Ghana

Open Access•Christine Wiedinmyer, Katherine L Dickinson et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2017

Key differences between urban and rural populations can influence the adoption and impacts of new cooking technologies and fuels. We examine these differences among urban and rural households that are part of the REACCTING study in Northern Ghana. While urban and rural populations in the study area all use multiple stoves, the types of stoves and fuels differ, with urban participants more likely to use charcoal and LPG while rural households rely…

  • Research on Emissions, Air quality, Climate, and Cooking Technologies in Northern Ghana (REACCTING)

Open Access•Katherine L Dickinson, Ernest Kanyomse et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2015

REACCTING is well-poised to generate useful data on the impact of a cookstove intervention on a wide range of outcomes. By comparing different technologies side by side and employing an interdisciplinary approach to study this issue from multiple perspectives, this study may help to inform future efforts to improve health and quality of life for populations currently relying on open fires for their cooking needs

  • Clustering of under-five mortality in the Navrongo HDSS in the Kassena-Nankana District of northern Ghana

Open Access•Martin Adjuik, Ernest Kanyomse et al.•ARTICLE•Global Health Action•2010

BACKGROUND: Under-five mortality is a major public health problem and one of the health indicators of health care in sub-Saharan Africa. In order to address inefficient health systems, there is a need to identify the spatial distribution of under-five mortality, especially areas of high mortality clustering. This study aimed to explore spatial and temporal clustering in under-five mortality in the Kassena-Nankana() District of the Upper East regi…
