In this article, we reflect on the preparatory phase of a multispecies research project focused on dog-human care relationships. Playing with creative posthumanist methodologies that seek to decenter the human, we attached light-weight videorecording devices to our companion animals' collars. This mixed methods study explores behavioral change and personal identity in 27 pregnant and parenting young women with histories of antisocial behavior. The study began with a qualitative investigation of experiences of behavioral change and participants’ conceptions of their salient self-values. We examined narrative processes of identity development as they related to desistance from delinquent behavior in a sample of vulnerable adolescents. Building on a robust theoretical and empirical foundation in the field of narrative identity, we examined processes of meaning-making and agency in relation to desistance. The present study examined aspects of identity development in a sample of adolescent boys from two approaches: individuation and narrative. To extend the more recent research on narrative identity development, we also examined relations between narrative identity, well-being, and age.
