Aeolian landforms play a vital role in Earth’s system, offering scientific significance and unique cultural-aesthetic value. Globally, many desert landscapes are recognised as UNESCO World Heritage sites, while desert parks are booming. Deserts captivate with their minimalist hues, sublime visuals, and majestic topography, providing distinctive aesthetic experiences. Their cultural value and ecological theories are gaining traction, yet research on their aesthetic specifics remains scarce. This interdisciplinary study integrates art theory and aeolian geomorphology through painting analysis, field surveys, and literature to decode desert aesthetics. It pioneers using artistic composition principles (points, lines, forms, rhythm) to reveal the desert beauty’s underlying logic and explores philosophical solace in human-desert relationships. Merging geomorphology with art theory enhances academic accessibility, bridging desert research with public engagement, tourism development, and scientific outreach
