White's article on American acts of force is consistent with much of his writing over the past years, especially the themes he chooses, the methodology of his analyses, and his approach to his audience. I commend much of White's latest effort, indicate concern about the criteria White uses to determine the success of acts of force, and conclude with a discussion of the relevance of White's analysis to the study of peace and conflict in the 21st century
