This study investigated the effectiveness of a self-transcendence intervention on self-coherence and loneliness of middle-aged men with incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI). A clinical randomized control trial with a control group was conducted. Forty-four men with incomplete SCI were randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group. The experimental group received 8 sessions of a self-transcendence-based intervention, while the control group was waitlisted. Participants completed coherence and loneliness scales at three time points. Repeated measures analysis of variance showed significant improvements in the experimental group (p < 0.01), maintained at 2-month follow-up. The intervention effectively increased coherence and reduced loneliness in SCI individuals
