The Creeping Seventh Republic and the Impossible Programs of Institutional Politics

Faced with a Parliament divided into three blocs following the French parliamentary elections of summer 2024, this article analyzes not so much the impasse of the current situation as the various glass ceilings from which it results: the inability to think of migration as anything other than a threat, the inability to imagine the economy through anything other than a Labor ideology, the inability to draw the economic-political consequences of the ecological problem. For each of these glass ceilings, points of impact are identified to break them: a realistic vision of demographic immigration needs in the face of an ageing population, a pollinating conception of the economy, a tax on all financial transactions, a permanent, non-repayable ecological loan
