A cup of tea in history

Visitors' perception of the Iran Tea Museum and the Ho Yan Hor Museum in the modern age (a comparative study)

This intercultural study examines the visitors’ perception of two tea museums in Iran and Malaysia. The method used for that is explanatory (quantitative-qualitative). Quantitative and qualitative data were collected in a single study but in two separate stages. By designing the questionnaire, quantitative data were collected from the visitors of the two museums, which provided a basis for designing the qualitative part of the research, which was the result of personal observations of the researchers from the two museums, their narration, and in-depth interviews with 16 visitors from both museums. In the end, combining the results of the quantitative and qualitative sections led to a better understanding of the research problem and deepening its findings. The results and findings showed that sensory-semantic richness, functional richness, and spatial rhythm are among the factors affecting tourists’ perception of tea museums
