Renumerating wh- compound questions in Japanese at the syntax-morphology interface
In this paper, we investigate wh-compound questions in Japanese to adjudicate between lexicalist and non-lexicalist approaches to word formation. We first show that wh-compound questions pass standard diagnostic tests for wordhood in Japanese, thereby forming a word-level unit in the lexicalist sense.
