Memory, postmemory and gender in letters by women to executed and disappeared women during the 1973–1990 Chilean dictatorship
This article examines the 2021 corpus of Epistolario de la memoria ( EM ; Epistle of memories), a digital project by the Museum of Memory and Human Rights that aggregates letters addressed to victims of Chile’s 1973–1990 civic-military dictatorship. The Museum of Memory and Human Rights in Chile hosts regular travelling exhibits about the country’s recent traumatic past of 1973–1990. In this article, I study the visitor books (VBs) that accompanied travelling exhibits to the cities of Valdivia and Puerto Montt to examine their effect on the audience. There are 220 community legal centres in Australia, many of which work on a selfhelp model that entails volunteer lawyers giving advice to clients who will then under take their own legal work.
