Family Papers from Second-Century A.D. Kellis
Edition of seven Greek 2nd-century C.E. papyri excavated at Ismant al-Kharab (Kellis). These documents (2 census declarations, 4 complete, respectively fragmentarily preserved contracts and 1 tax receipt) illustrate a relatively early phase of the occupation of the settlement. The census declarations suggest the existence of female professional spinners at Kellis

Vor einiger Zeit schickte mir Hermann Harrauer ein Photo des Papyrus P.Vindob. G 15148, der erfreulicherweise einen "alten Bekannten" aufweist. Der Text, der nach der Signatur aus Hermupolis stammen dürfte' und paläographisch an die Wende vom7. zum 8. This article tries to find an answer to the question, whether weekday indicationsoccurring in documentary texts from late antiquity match modern computations backwards and whether they can be relied upon as helpful, reliable evidence for establishing the precise date of incompletely preserved documents

Their provenanee gives these texts some special interest, as they co me from apart of Egypt where ostraka are rare. As we feel that the transeripts are not satisfaetory, we present our own (new) transeripts of the Greek ostraka made on the basis of the plates aeeompanying the ed. prine

Kaisertitulaturen in Papyri aus dem Zeitalter Diokletians
ZPE 76 (1989) 193-205 hat P. Brennan eine arg verstümmelte Inschrift aus Elephantine (Süd-Ägypten) rekonstruiert und dabei eine ,normale' Titulatur für die Kaiser Diokletian, Maximian, Constantius und Galerius wiederhergestellt. Diese Rekonstruktion basiert u. a. darauf, daß in der ed. pr. einige Zeilen ausgelassen und andere Zeilen in falscher Folge abgeschrieben sind

Ende einer Bittschrift - Liste ausgehändigter Knidien
Mittelbrauner Papyrus, der links, rechts und unten abgeschnitten, oben regelmäßig abgebrochen ist. Auf der Rektoseite beträgt der Freirand unten 2, 5 cm, links 3, 5--4, 5 cm. 5,5 cm von rechts befindet sich eine horizontale Klebung. Der Papyrus war 6 x waagrecht gefaltet. Auf der Versoseite ist oben ein Freirand von 3 cm, unten von 7 cm

Er hat in dankenswerter Weise die wichtigsten Elemente aus jedem einzelnen Vertrag spaltenweise zusammengefaßt und bei der Angabe des Mietpreises die Terminologie des jeweiligen Textes gen au wiedergegeben
