  • The relationship between strong belief and assumption

Open Access•Adam Brandenburger, Amanda Friedenberg et al.•ARTICLE•Synthese•2023•Referencias: 13

We define two maps, one map from the set of conditional probability systems (CPS’s) onto the set of lexicographic probability systems (LPS’s), and another map from the set of LPS’s with full support onto the set of CPS’s. We use these maps to establish a relationship between strong belief (defined on CPS’s) and assumption (defined on LPS’s). This establishes a relationship at the abstract level between these two widely used notions of belief in a…

  • Epistemic Conditions for Nash Equilibrium

Robert J Aumann, Robert Aumann et al.•ARTICLE•Econometrica•1995

  • Knowledge and Equilibrium in Games

    Open Access•Adam Brandenburger•ARTICLE•The Journal of Economic…•1992•Citada por: 9•Referencias: 11

This paper describes an approach to noncooperative game theory that aims to capture considerations that exercise the minds of real-world strategists. The most commonly used tool of noncooperative game theory is the Nash equilibrium. This raises the question: Are there assumptions on what the players in a game think-including what they think other players think, and so on-that lead to consideration of Nash equilibrium? The paper provides answers t…

  • Economic Organizations as Games

Adam Brandenburger, Ken Binmore et al.•ARTICLE•Economica•1988

Part 1 Equilibrium theory: the existence of equilibrium in discontinuous economic games - theory, application, P.Dasgupta and E.Maskin. Part 2 Imperfect competition: on the rate of convergence of oligopoly equilibria in large markets - an example, P.Dasgupta and Y.Ushio natural oligopolies, A.Shaked and J.Sutton relaxing price competition through product differentiation, A.Shaked and J.Sutton the theory of technological competition, P.Dasgupta st…
