In this cross-sectional study of a sample of women seeking orders of protection at family court (N = 95), we report descriptive, self-report data on health care utilization and insurance coverage. A substantial minority of suicide victims have remitted alcohol use disorders. The authors hypothesized that psychiatric disorders are likely to be present in this group to create the necessary conditions for suicide.
