Pākehā and Tauiwi Treaty education
The Māori call to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi is arguably the oldest continuous social movement in Aotearoa New Zealand since the Treaty for European settlement was signed. A much more recent Pākehā and Tauiwi activism for the Treaty has supported the Māori movement, but is often overlooked as a social movement. Developing a Decolonisation Practice for Settler Colonisers
Lorenzo Veracini suggests that the coloniser does not yet know 'how settler decolonisation should appear'. I offer in response an account of how settler decolonisation has appeared in Aotearoa New Zealand and developed over the past three decades, particularly within the field of what I call 'education work'. Discourses for decolonization
When dominant group members participate in the work of decolonization, their tasks are different from those of indigenous peoples. This study identifies key features of alternative discourses used by members of the dominant group in New Zealand workplaces. Sixteen accounts of organizational changes to implement te Tiriti o Waitangi , 1840, which guaranteed indigenous Maori authority, were analysed using the methods of critical discourse analysis.…

Language attitudes, ethnicity and social class in New Zealand
The extent to which ethnic speech styles can be detected, and how they and English R.P. are evaluated, have been problematic issues in the small literature devoted to New Zealand speech varieties. In the present study, samples of spontaneous speech of English, Dutch, Maori and Pakeha speakers (from three status groups) were presented on audiotapes to 120 students.
