Common Challenges for All? A Critical Engagement with the Emerging Vision for Post-pandemic Development Studies

This paper examines the origins of the IMF’s Debt Sustainability Analysis (DSA), a template to facilitate the measurement of a country’s debt sustainability that was introduced in 2002 and further developed in 2003. The present article constitutes a contribution to the monetary and financial history of Greece by introducing to a wider audience the Financial Commission that was established in the late 1850s following the longstanding lack of payment by Greece on its foreign loans.
