This chapter reflects on regimes of separation and movement regulation in occupied Palestine, and on the landscapes that support these regimes. It focuses upon the network of by-pass roads bisecting the West Bank, which connect up Israel with the Israeli settlements in that territory, and the prime interest is in the symbolic function of these roads.
