The Economy of Dead Souls
This article investigates economic aspects of Nikolai Gogol’s Dead Souls based on the pragmatic triad consisting of such components as the author — the text — the reader. The reader, being an investigator, can perceive the text independently and analyze the actions of the characters as if they took place in real life. Marx, Kantorovich, and Novozhilov
The program adopted at the 22nd Party Congress in October 1961 stated that prices must reflect socially necessary labor costs. Soviet economics held that it is these costs that form value. Meanwhile, Robert Campbell published an article under the title “Marx, Kantorovich, Novozhilov: Stoimost’ Versus Reality” supporting the view that Kantorovich and Novozhilov had revived Soviet economics.
