In the collections of the Russian State Library and the Russian National Library, two hand-written Komi-Permyak dictionaries were found, which were not previously mentioned in the scientific literature. According to preliminary data, the newly discovered manuscripts are versions of the Russian-Permyak dictionary by Fedot AleksejeviÄ Volegov (1790â 1856). The dictionary of F. A. About Mansi origin of the Russian dialect word nyurka ‘small pike’, ‘small fish’
Introduction: in some Districts of the Sverdlovsk and Perm Oblasts, the words nyur, nyurka, nyurovka, nyrka and some others similar words with the meaning ‘small pike’ (sometimes ‘small fish’) are fixed. The etymological solutions earlier proposed for this lexical nest do not sufficiently take into account the form, semantics and areal of the Russian dialect words.
