When famine overwhelmed ?ve North China provinces in 1920, one of the ways that funds were raised to combat the disaster was through the sale of "cinderella" stamps, stamps that could not be used as legal postage but rather could be pasted onto envelopes or packages as decorations. Decision-Making Power in Romanian Families
This article examines the distribution of decision-making power between Romanian husbands and wives. Survey research data were collected in interviews with 295 working women and housewives in Bucharest in 1976. The findings showed a remarkable degree of decision-making equality in these households, in contrast with other kinds of evidence on marital behavior, such as household task-sharing.
