  • Shorter night‐time sleep duration and later sleep timing from infancy to adolescence

Open Access•Ifigeneia Manitsa, Alice M Gregory et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Child Psychology and…•2024

BACKGROUND: Here, we (a) examined the trajectories of night-time sleep duration, bedtime and midpoint of night-time sleep (MPS) from infancy to adolescence, and (b) explored perinatal risk factors for persistent poor sleep health. METHODS: This study used data from 12,962 participants in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC). • Supporting employers and their employees with mental hEalth conditions to remain eNgaged and producTive at wORk (Mentor)

Open Access•Arianna Prudenzi, Kiranpreet Gill et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Contextual Behavioral…•2024

Employees with mental health conditions often struggle to remain in employment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these employees faced additional stressors, including worsening mental health and work productivity. In 2020, as part of a larger programme of work called the Mental Health and Productivity Pilot (MHPP), we developed a new early intervention (MENTOR) that jointly involved employees, managers, and a new professional (Mental Health Employme…

  • The role of inflammation in the prospective associations between early childhood sleep problems and ADHD at 10 years

Open Access•Isabel Morales‐Muñoz, Rachel Upthegrove et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Child Psychology and…•2023

BACKGROUND: Several underlying mechanisms potentially account for the link between sleep and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), including inflammation. However, studies so far have been cross sectional. We investigate (a) the association between early childhood sleep and probable ADHD diagnosis in childhood and (b) whether childhood circulating inflammatory markers mediate these prospective associations. METHODS: Data from the A…

  • Symptoms and risk factors for long Covid in non-hospitalized adults

Open Access•Anuradhaa Subramanian, Krishnarajah Nirantharakumar et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Medicine•2022

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is associated with a range of persistent symptoms impacting everyday functioning, known as post-COVID-19 condition or long COVID. We undertook a retrospective matched cohort study using a UK-based primary care database, Clinical Practice Research Datalink Aurum, to determine symptoms that are associated with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection beyond 12 weeks in non-hospitalized ad…

  • Managing Minds at Work

Open Access•Harry Blake, Barbara Vaughan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Mental ill-health is the leading cause of sickness absence, creating a high economic burden. Workplace interventions aimed at supporting employers in the prevention of mental ill-health in the workforce are urgently required. • The globalizability of temporal discounting

    Open Access•Kai Ruggeri, Amma Panin et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2022•Citada por: 5•Referencias: 57

Economic inequality is associated with preferences for smaller, immediate gains over larger, delayed ones. Such temporal discounting may feed into rising global inequality, yet it is unclear whether it is a function of choice preferences or norms, or rather the absence of sufficient resources for immediate needs. It is also not clear whether these reflect true differences in choice patterns between income groups. We tested temporal discounting an…

  • The Clinical Impacts of Mobile Mood-Monitoring in Young People With Mental Health Problems

Open Access•M Dubad, Farah Elahi et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2021

Background: Limited evidence suggests that mobile mood-monitoring can improve mental health outcomes and therapeutic engagement in young people. The aim of this mixed methods study was to explore the clinical impacts of mobile mood-monitoring in youth with mental health problems, using a publicly accessible app. Methods: Twenty-three patients with mental health problems and 24 young people without mental health problems participated in the quanti…

  • Moods in Clinical Depression Are More Unstable than Severe Normal Sadness

Open Access•Rudy Bowen, Evyn M Peters et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2017

The results show that low and high moods, and low and high MI, are highly correlated in people with depression compared with those who are not depressed. Current psychiatric practice does not assess or treat MI or brief high mood episodes in patients with depression. New models of mood that also focus on MI will need to be developed to address the pattern of mood disturbance in people with depression

  • Mood Instability and Irritability as Core Symptoms of Major Depression

Open Access•Lloyd Balbuena, Rudy Bowen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2016

Mood instability and irritability are candidate core symptoms of the depressive syndrome and should be part of its clinical assessment

  • Views and Experiences of Employment among People with Psychosis

Open Access•Shivika Marwaha, Steven Marwaha et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Social…•2005
