  • Development of a risk assessment model for elder abuse vulnerability among ethnic minority older adults in Hunan, China

Open Access•Chunhong Shi, Yizhou Liu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal for Equity…•2026

BACKGROUND: Elder abuse is a significant public health issue, particularly among those from ethnic minorities who often face unique cultural and social challenges that may exacerbate their vulnerability. However, research on elder abuse in this population remains limited. This study aimed to explore the prevalence of vulnerability to abuse among older ethnic minorities in China and to develop a risk assessment model to inform the development of p…

  • Determinants of Online Teaching and Learning Effectiveness for Statistical Concepts and Calculations Subjects During the Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO)

    Open Access•C C Li, Azyanee Luqman•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2024

In today’s fast-paced ICT-driven world, understanding the factors influencing the effectiveness of online teaching and learning is paramount, especially during the Movement Control Order (MCO) when physical educational activities are restricted. Assessing the efficacy of undergraduate students under these circumstances can be particularly challenging, and the resulting conclusions may vary depending on the context. Consequently, this study is dri…

  • Effect of father's education on child's cognitive ability

    C C Li, Changquan Li•ARTICLE•Biodemography and Social Biology•1986

In studying the effect of father's education on child's cognitive ability, we find that some models of analysis yield a negative effect, which does not seem plausible according to our current understanding of the nature of the two variables. Two new models are proposed to take account of the biological relationships between parents and children. The analyses based on these new models show a positive effect of father's education on child's IQ scor…

  • Separation of common environment and dominance effects with classic kinship correlation models

    C C Li•ARTICLE•Social Biology•1977•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 1

Common family environmental effect (γ2) and dominance effect (d2 ) are usually confounded; either or both may make the sib‐sib correlation larger than the parent‐child correlation. The classic three kinship correlations (parent‐parent, parent‐offspring, sib‐sib) can accommodate either dominance (Model D) or common family environment effects (Model C), but not both. The relationship between the various components of the three correlations of Model…
