The major focus of this paper was on the implications of recent changes in social-sexual practices on marriage rates. Questionnaire data on interpersonal feelings and social background variables were obtained from 31 going-together couples and 18 living-together couples, all of whom were, of course, unmarried. The Factor Structure Of Needs As Measured By The Epps
Two separate factor analyses of the EPPS were reported, based upon scores of 160 male and 160 female undergraduates. A marked similarity exists between the factor structure obtained for the men and that obtained for the women. The five factors which emerged from each analysis are interpreted as representing the following groups of needs: (A) nInterpersonal Relationships; (B) nHostile Dependency; (C) hStatus; (D) nOrderly Structure; (E) nFreedom. …

Further Comments on the Prediction of Autonomy Behavior from the Epps n Autonomy Scale
This paper constitutes a reply to Jessor's comments on a study by Lipetz and Milton. Additional considerations are presented in order to allow a fuller evaluation of Jessor's comments. The main conclusion is that an effort toward a systematic investigation of variables which would allow for better prediction of behaviors characterized as dependent will be necessary
