This article analyzes the pragmatic potential of personal and possessive pronouns of the Belarusian language as actualizers of personal deixis in dialogical discourse as one of the main categories of dialogical discourse that participates in the formation of the structural and semantic basis of the utterance and carries a significant pragmatic load. It is argued in this article that we should search not for the origin or roots of social inequality, but rather for factors that might have caused a specific form or type of social inequality to develop and for mechanisms which might have shaped specific structural features of hierarchical systems. The world-wide cross-cultural tests performed in this paper support the hypothesis that monopolization of politically important information is inversely related with female status.
