Family Sociology in a Small Academic Community
This paper focuses on the development and dissemina- tion of knowledge about family in the small academic community in Israel. The definition of family in this paper is inclusive of all forms of nuclear and extended family and kinship networks. Celebrations of Bureaucracy
In the early world of the Israeli Jewish child, the kindergarten is the dominant molder of experiences beyond the intimacy of the family. The kindergarten initiates the lengthy process by which child is turned into citizen, in large measure through the state system of education. A sample of Israeli war widows held differing concepts of remarriage, (i) a second first marriage, modelled on the same kind of romantic attachment as the first marriage, (ii) a remedial marriage, designed to repair the damage to the family; or (iii) a postponed marriage, entered into after the obligations of the first marriage were fulfilled.
