  • Stable carbon and oxygen isotopic signatures in soil carbonate nodules for paleoclimate reconstruction in southwestern Taiwan

Open Access•Hui Zhen Hum, Pei-Ling Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2026

Stable carbon and oxygen isotopes in carbonate nodules were controlled by the type of vegetation (C 3 or C 4 ) and soil temperature, respectively. These signatures can reflect the paleoclimatic conditions during the formation of the carbonate nodules. Carbonate nodules were sampled along a soil chronosequence in southwestern Taiwan, representing different ages of shoreline changes associated with phases of marine transgression and regression. The…

  • Aging and intimate partner violence

    Open Access•Yu-Ju Yen, Hsiu-Fen Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Qualitative Social Work•2026

Current research on intimate partner violence (IPV) against older women remains understudied and often overlooked in domestic violence and abuse studies. Using interpretive phenomenological analysis, this qualitative study aims to explore the lived experiences of IPV against older Taiwanese women. The findings of 13 in-depth interviews present the influence of culture on violence against women across the life course. In their young adulthood, abu…

  • From empathy to quality long-term care

    Ching‐Yi Chang, Pei-Ling Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Interactive Learning Environments•2025

The demand for a multi-disciplinary workforce in long-term care is paramount, particularly in the realm of life care services. Art therapy has been recognized as being a promising approach for promoting learners’ empathy and competences for long-term care. However, in traditional art therapy courses, most students who are not interested in artworks or who do not have experience in artwork creation could lack confidence in their ability and motiva…
