Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) represents a developmental lag that may be reflected in fluctuating asymmetry (FA), i.e., differences from perfect symmetry in traits that display bilateral symmetry. Three aspects of off farm employment are examined: factors affecting the adoption of employment, its impact on the rural economy as expressed in investment patterns, and its impact on land use patterns.
