  • Until Marriage Do Us Part

    Kenneth H David, Kenneth David•ARTICLE•Man•1973•Citada por: 18•Referencias: 5

Kenneth David's article, "Until Marriage Do Us Part: A Cultural Account of Jaffna Tamil Categories for Kinsman," explores the kinship terminology and classifications among the Jaffna Tamils of Northern Sri Lanka. David argues that their kinship system, rather than being simply a reflection of Dravidian kinship structures, is significantly shaped by local cultural values and practices, particularly those related to marriage and the conjugal bond. …

  • Relationship between Number of Identified Reinforcers and Depression-Elation

    Open Access•Michael J Uhes, Kenneth H David•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1971

It was hypothesized that there would be a positive relationship between the number of stimuli identified by Ss as reinforcing (together with the reinforcing value of the identified stimuli) and self-labeled depression-elation. 81 Ss were administered the Reinforcement Survey Schedule and a depression-elation scale. The hypothesis was not supported, with non-significant ( p > .05) correlation coefficients occurring for both males and females

  • Reinforcement Schedule, Intertrial Activity, and Verbal Operant Conditioning

    Open Access•Kenneth H David, T E Dielman•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1968

An investigation of the effect of different reinforcement schedules (RS) upon conditioning and awareness in a verbal operant conditioning situation (VOC). 40 S s were given Taffel's sentence-completion task with one-half of S s given an intertrial color-naming task (ICN). S s were placed on a 100%, 66%, 33%, or 0% RS for Trials 11–100, with no reinforcement given during Trials 101 to 150. The 100% and 66% RS groups showed conditioning of “I-we” r…

  • Effect of a Speed Set on Awareness and Verbal Operant Conditioning

    Open Access•Kenneth H David•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1967

A study to determine the relationship between verbal operant conditioning (VOC) and awareness as measured by Dulany's post-conditioning interview. 76 Ss were given instructions for either a Speed Set or Non-speed Set. Taffel's sentence-completion task was used with an intertrial color-naming task. Reinforced Ss showed a significant increase in VOC ( p .05). Speed Set vs Non-speed Set had no significant effect upon either VOC or awareness ( p > .0…
