Press and Public
This book reviews the challenges that face American newspapers at the end of the 1980s, after a decade of circulation losses for many dailies and several decades of accelerating social change. It describes how content of newspapers is changing in the context of a discussion of the nature of news.

Measuring the Effectiveness of an Overseas Information Campaign
In 1952 the U. S. Information Agency conducted a paid newspaper advertising campaign in Greece. In a study of the effectiveness of that campaign, it became clear that the major result had been in providing people with a rationale for their existing convictions rather than in changing their attitudes
