Latent profile analysis of veterans’ psychological risk and protective factors
Meaningful subgroups were present in this sample of post-9/11 service-era military veterans with respect to psychological risk and protective factors. The SS profile had over 10 times the odds of nonroutine discharge compared to the Average profile. Direct and indirect effects of mindfulness, PTSD, and depression on self-stigma of mental illness in OEF/OIF veterans
PTSD is strongly associated with self-stigma in military veterans, many of whom do not seek mental health treatment. Findings show that mindfulness is a promising intervention target for reducing symptoms of PTSD directly and reducing associated self-stigma of mental illness indirectly.
